Children are gifts of God. They are like beautiful flowers which need to be nurtured to blossom into beautiful flowers. It is in these formative years that children need to be guided both at home and in school so as to attain the very best in whatever they do. Pre-primary education is primarily considered to be the foundation for the lifelong learning experience and starting point for formal education. The true purpose behind nursery classes is to provide a child centered pre-curriculum aimed at unfolding the child's physical, intellectual and moral nature with balanced emphasis on each of them.
At AEMS the approach to education is specifically based on scientific understanding of how a child develops and learns .This synergistic approach using the child's natural potential enables optimal learning. We have a fully trained and experienced staff. The teachers are caring, friendly, fair - yet firm and discipline conscious when needed. They pay individual attention to the needs of the children and promote their creative and aesthetic development.
The students are educated in an informal way through the play way method. The act of teaching consists primarily of presenting sensory images, objects and information to the child in a pleasant and interesting manner and permitting the child to observe and inquire about the subject. Emphasis is on an anxiety free learning rather than reading and writing by rote.
A Toy Room equipped with a wide range of selected toys ,learning aids have been provided for the students. Songs, rhymes, games and other outdoor activities are used as teaching strategies. Coloured flash cards with large images are utilised as convenient low cost teaching aids. Story telling through puppets is used to make learning fun and to communicate basic values of goodness, beauty, harmony, responsibility and right conduct. A large portion of the teaching materials are produced at school by the teachers, who customise their teaching aids to suit the interest and knowledge level of the students. There is a fair amount of flexibility in the school programme and schedule changes are made from time to time as demanded by the environment and the emerging situations in the classroom.
The strength in each section of nursery is only 35 with two teachers and a maid responsible for the smooth functioning of the class. The classrooms are bright, airy and digitalised so as to encourage pleasurable learning and stimulate the child's imagination.
